Neither side could break ahead as the two teams began in a tense 7-7 duel in the first quarter.

The Whippets opened a meager 21-7 gap over the Vikings at halftime.

Downingtown West breathed fire to a 28-7 lead heading into the final quarter.

The gap remained steady with both teams scoring evenly in the fourth quarter.

The Vanguards narrowed the gap 7-6 in the final quarter but it was too little, too late.

Malvern Prep escapes close call with La Salle

Malvern Prep finally found a way to top La Salle 13-7 on Sept. 1 in Pennsylvania football.

Malvern Prep jumped in front of La Salle 7-0 to begin the second quarter.

La Salle stemmed the tide in the third quarter by closing the gap to 13-7.

Neither squad could muster points in the second and fourth quarters.

Avon Grove dominates Penn Wood in convincing showing

Avon Grove unleashed a high-powered offensive show to knock off Penn Wood 42-21 Friday on Sept. 1 in Pennsylvania football action.

The two squads struggled a 14-14 standstill as the third quarter opened.
