Folds of Honor military families will be benefiting from the 14th Annual AM790 WAEB Radio-thon, which will be held the week of Sept. 11.

Hosted by Bobby Gunther Walsh and Gene Dickinson from 7 AM – 10 AM from Sept. 6 – 11, this will be the fourth time that the Folds of Honor and the families it supports will directly benefit from donations made through the Radio-thon event.

As the Radio-thon’s 501C3 charity of choice, several Folds of Honor recipient families will share their stories during interviews each morning, sharing the effects that a catastrophic injury or paying the ultimate sacrifice has had on their lives and their educational dreams.

Among those who will be interviewed are Ginger Ravella, Grace Parrish, and Christian Meza. Ravella found herself a widow with five young children after her husband and high school sweetheart, Troy, lost his life while serving in Iraq. Parrish also found herself a widow after waking to the news that her husband, Officer Zack Parrish, was ambushed on a call, leaving her and her two young daughters to mourn and pick up the pieces. Meza and his mother were faced with several dramatic changes in their life after his father suffered a catastrophic brain injury, along with resulting PTSD.

The stories are riveting and share the difficulties these families experience and how Folds of Honor, and the patriots who support the organization, help ease the burden and circumstances for these families.

In families such as these, Folds of Honor has awarded the children, widows, and spouses life-changing, educational scholarships so that they may continue forward with their educational pursuits despite the hardships their family may have or is presently experiencing.
