Longwood Gardens will release a new book titled Du Pont Gardens of the Brandywine Valley that explores the rich history of five former du Pont estates and their unique attributes, according to a staff report from Chadds Ford Live

The book features photographs by Larry Lederman and text by Marta McDowell and covers Hagley Museum and Library, Nemours Estate, Mt. Cuba Center, Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, and Longwood Gardens. It can be purchased on-site at Longwood’s Garden Shop as well as online

Du Pont Gardens of the Brandywine Valley is published by Monacelli and features 240 pages that are filled with more than 200 amazing pictures.

“We are delighted to join these other great gardens in celebrating the release of this new book,” said Paul B. Redman, President and CEO of Longwood Gardens.

To celebrate the book’s release, a book signing and lecture will take place at Winterthur Museum, Garden, & Library on Oct. 1. At the event, McDowell will share stories of the gardens and Lederman will describe the approach he took in photographing these beautiful places.
