Local Artist Astounds with His Wooden Creations at Oxford Craft Show
Local artist Dan Breslow recently astounded people with his unique hand-made items at Ware’s Christmas in July craft show in Oxford, writes Steven Hoffman for the Chester County Press.
“I was the unicorn in the show at Ware,” he said. “My price range may have been higher than others, but I sold very well.”
Most people could not walk by his table without pausing and talking to him about his items. That is when they learned that they were looking at was not just a craft but an art object.
Breslow started woodturning after he retired six years ago. He started to create a shop that would be efficient and comfortable and have an atmosphere that would inspire him.
“I love the fact that I only have to step outside my door, and I can walk into this world I created,” he explained.
And while he started transforming wood, he realized wood also transformed his life.
“It took me some time to realize how much satisfaction creating gives me,” he said. “The process of being creative has been a wonderful experience for me.”
