6ABC’s Adam Joseph, WMMR’s Kathy Romano to Emcee 2023 West Chester Christmas Parade
The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce has named 6ABC meteorologist Adam Joseph to return as emcee of the West Chester Christmas Parade, joined for the first time by WMMR radio host Kathy Romano of The Preston & Steve Show. The beloved hometown parade will be held Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, kicking off more than a month full of holiday festivities in historic downtown West Chester during Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester.
Voted “Best Local Parade” and “Best Family-Friendly Event” by readers of Main Line Today, the parade title sponsored by Chester County Hospital delights more than 20,000 fans of all ages. Parade night kicks off Dec. 1st at 6:30 PM with the official lighting of West Chester’s stunning 25-foot-tall Christmas tree on the lawn of the Historic Chester County Courthouse.
The spectacle continues at 7 PM with the parade that will include the ever-popular marching bands, exciting newcomers, and the most-anticipated appearance of the year: Santa!
“If you’re looking for a hometown parade that inspires you with the true holiday spirit, this is it. The West Chester Christmas Parade has been a part of my family’s holiday season for more than a decade,” said Joseph. “We were not only ecstatic but felt the outpouring of affection from the West Chester community last year when the parade returned for the first time since the pandemic. This year promises to be even more heartwarming – and exciting! – with even more marching bands, by popular demand.”
“I’m a West Chester University graduate, so West Chester will always be in my heart,” said Romano. “I can’t wait to team up with Adam to welcome everyone to the West Chester Christmas Parade for this evening full of family fun that draws so many to West Chester’s incredibly vibrant shops and restaurants.”
“We have some really exciting performers this year who applied to be a part of this special evening, in addition to almost 50 sponsors who are investing in the high quality of our performances,” said Christy Cosgrove, Chair of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, who notes that a few more sponsorships are still available to local businesses seeking exposure during more than five weeks of holiday festivities, Nov. 24 to Jan. 1, during Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester.
