“My favorite part of helping a client through the home buying process is seeing the smile on their face during settlement day.” This is the sentiment of Christian Blackwell, a CRA specialist with S&T Bank in the Philadelphia region. 

Growing up in the Eastern PA area, Blackwell, who has been in the mortgage industry since 2004, works to help individuals and families achieve their dreams of home ownership as they acquire property of their own. He believes his role with S&T is truly serving the area where he grew up.

“I love my community. This is where my roots are. This part of the state has great history and I take pride in preserving local buildings with their beautiful architecture and greenery. My work feels like I’m giving back and helping to keep this area vibrant,” he said. 

Blackwell also feels that S&T’s Home Ownership Program is something that sets the services he can offer apart from those offered by other institutions. The Home Ownership Program features fixed rates, low down payments, discounted fees, no mortgage insurance requirement and more. When considering what distinguishes him from other mortgage professionals, he stated, “I make myself available to my clients when it’s convenient for them. I work to communicate with my potential borrowers and walk them through the process to make certain they feel comfortable every step of the way.” 

Further demonstrating his dedication to helping his community flourish, he serves on the Board of Directors for MOYTTA, an organization that provides meaningful after school programs. Their mission is to “Expose our youth to new experience and opportunities which promote children’s social and academic success.”  

Blackwell joined the S&T Bank team because, “I saw opportunities for advancement, and I felt supported to be able to fulfill my role and serve others.”
