N.Y. Times: Concours d’Elegance from Malvern’s Radnor Hunt Club One of Best in World
For automobile lovers looking to spectate a concours d’Elegance, Malvern is the destination. This event, a term in French that means “competition of elegance”, is a prestigious car show which dates to the 17th century and is one of the best to visit, writes Norman Mayersohn for The New York Times.
Instead of a Rolls Royce, the upper echelons of French society would parade their horse-drawn carriages in Parisian parks. These swanky saunters eventually evolved into exhibitors only showing their carriages sans the horses.
The Radnor Hunt Club will be hosting the modern take on the Concours D’Elegance this September. From Sept. 8—10, vintage cars will be showcased at the country club. A barbecue Friday night and a Black-Tie Gala are standalone events that require separate tickets.
For automobile enthusiasts with an equestrian streak, there will be a horse-drawn carriage parade on Sunday.
Tickets are $80 for adults, $40 for 13 to 17 and children get in free.
