West Chester University President Christopher Fiorentino will be retiring at the end of the upcoming school year, but he has no plans to take it easy in his last year with the educational institution, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal

In his 41st year with West Chester University, Fiorentino wants to set in motion efforts to add 1,000 more beds to campus, finalize a comprehensive strategic plan, and exceed a target that was set for the largest fundraising campaign in the university’s history. And those are just some of his goals for his final year.

He joined West Chester four decades ago in a teaching position and was named president in 2016.

“The university’s thriving, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, I feel I’m at the top of my game in terms of being a president,” said Fiorentino. “With all that said, I’ve reached the point where I’m ready to pass the baton to somebody else and step back and watch them re-energize West Chester University and take it forward to the next level.”
