The actor grew up in the area and fondly remembers his formative years.

Actor Richard Kind, who grew up in Yardley and graduated from Pennsbury High School, has had a prolific television career over the last several decades, writes Victor Fiorillo for the Philadelphia Magazine.

Many know him from Spin City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, A Serious Man, and numerous other popular shows.

His latest project, The Out-Laws, recently started streaming on Netflix. The Adam Sandler-produced comedy focuses on a bank manager whose bank might have been robbed by his future in-laws. Kind turns up as the main character’s father.

Kind remembers his childhood in Bucks County fondly. There, he used to spend most of his free time “riding my bike with no helmet to 7-Eleven to get a Slurpee and playing in the streets with no streetlamps.”

During his long and fruitful career, he has had many hits and also a few flops. However, one of them landed him a lifelong friendship with George Clooney.

“We worked together years ago playing brothers in a failed TV pilot,” said Kind. “He was the best man at my wedding.”
