Chester Springs Ovarian Cancer Survivor Celebrates Her Miracle Baby

By

When Madeleine Low, of Chester Springs, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2016 at just 26 years old, she decided to have her eggs frozen before she underwent chemotherapy and a hysterectomy, writes Beccah Hendrickson for 6ABC.

Seven years later, she and her husband welcomed a new baby, Bryce, into their lives with the help of a surrogate.

“He means everything to me,” said Low. “I love him so much. This is all I ever wanted and I love everything about him.”

Dr. Clarisa Gracia, the director of Penn Fertility Care at the University of Pennsylvania who treated Low, referred to her patient’s story as a miracle.

As she battled cancer, Low realized she would not be able to carry her own children. That made her question if she would be able to achieve her dream of being a mom. Thanks to Allie Hurst, who read about her story on Instagram and agreed to become her surrogate, her dream really did come true.

“Gifts are my love language,” said Hurst. “I just feel like what greater gift is there than helping another woman bring their baby into this world.”
