S&T Bank branch manager Ratnam Rakesh and his team are always ready to lend a hand whether you are a new customer or have stepped through their doors many times before. For over 120 years, S&T Bank has been committed to personal banking and helping customers meet their financial goals. The bank’s strength lies in its own people.

Coming from India to the United States, Rakesh had a background in finance that allowed him to connect and find his place at the bank. His dedication to helping people become financially literate landed him his position at S&T where he continues to further his reach in the area.

“When I started working for S&T Bank around two years ago,” said Rakesh, Boothwyn Branch Manager, “I found that I have a place to grow and feel listened to.”

As a person who cares for the wellbeing of his customers, he always finds another avenue to help them no matter what, whether that is to help them save or make more money. Rakesh takes the time to greet every customer who walks through, directing and assisting them so they have the best possible experience at S&T bank.

In addition to aiding bank-goers, Rakesh is a mentor and coach to those looking to take the next step in their careers. At every institution he has worked at, he has helped others move up levels in the positions and finds joy in being the one to lead this transition.

“I feel valued here. We don’t just want one person to succeed, we want everyone at every branch in every level to feel heard and be able to improve themselves,” he said.

Furthermore, S&T Bank maintains a local presence by volunteering. Recently, the Boothwyn branch worked with the YMCA to provide food to residents in need. In June, Rakesh and his team are looking forward to holding an Alex’s Lemonade Stand event — solidifying their part in the community.

The bank’s commitment to people-forward banking is demonstrated in its core values of winning as a team, going above and beyond, and doing the right thing.
