Philadelphia Among Most Active Locations for Renting in Country
Philadelphia ranked among the fifteen most active rental markets in the nation as well as the top three in the Northeast for April, writes Alexandra Both for RentCafe.
To find out which cities are seeing the most listing activity and attracting the most attention from apartment hunters, RentCafe analyzed millions of interactions on its website across the 150 largest cities in the U.S.
Four main indicators were used, including the availability of apartments, listing views, apartments saved as favorites, and saved personalized searches.
Philadelphia ranked at No. 13 among the most active rental markets in April. It also came second in the Northeast, where it surpassed the Bronx, Boston, and Brooklyn.
Compared to the previous month, the City of Brotherly Love dropped five places on the list.
In April, apartment seekers added five times more available rentals to their favorites lists than a year ago for a 434 percent year-over-year growth. The rate of saved personalized searches for apartments has also nearly doubled over that period.
