Philadelphia is filled with the attractions that await visitors, many more than can fit into one weekend, writes Ingrid K. Williams for The New York Times.

If you are looking to visit the city, start by taking in the views of its skyline on a stroll along the Schuylkill River Trail. The walk will take you past David McShane’s “The Phillies Mural.”

If you are an art lover, make your way to the repurposed Cherry Street Pier, where stacked shipping containers are home to house studios for photographers, painters, graphic designers, and sculptors.

Another must-visit area is Benjamin Franklin Parkway, known as the city’s “Museum Mile.” This is home to the Rodin Museum, the Franklin Institute, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The latter is the perfect opportunity to take a picture on the cinematic steps featured in the Rocky movie.

Some of the most exciting restaurants in Philadelphia are in the formerly working-class Fishtown neighborhood. Examples include Suraya. This offers modern Lebanese cuisine, and Middle Child Clubhouse, with imaginative food that is as fun as its cocktail list.
