The property formerly known as Water World in Phoenixville is on the market for $2.85 million. The park closed in 2012, and a Wayne couple purchased the fixer-upper for the 22-acre property in 2018, writes Paul Schwedelson for The Philadelphia Business Journal.  

Kim Peltier, one of the property owners, grew up going to Water World. She and her husband Steve worked to clear trash, and overgrown trees, and demolish structures for years. If the couple also manages to clear more park structures, they plan to list it for $3 million.  

The property has the potential to become a commercial or residential development site. Geoffrey Moody of KW Commercial believes this property could open a new demographic in southern Chester County.  

“This is a really exciting and valuable site,” Moody said. “It also helps that the median age in this northern Chester County region is in the low- to mid-50s. By offering a product on this site geared toward that demographic, this gives new housing, which the demand is overwhelming for the supply right now.” 

Adjacent to the property are also several housing developments and single-family homes. A public elementary school is also set to open across the street. Construction for the school is aimed to be completed by 2025.
