A new restaurant is set to open in nearby Bucks County, and local residents will never guess where the new spot will be opening. Michael Tanenbaum wrote about the new eatery for Philly Voice.

Rocco’s Italian Sausage, the beloved sandwich and cheesesteak stand at Home Depot stores in Philadelphia, is coming to Bucks County.

The eatery debuted in the city in 2006 and currently has seven locations there, five of which are at Home Depot stores. The chain opened its first suburban location last month at the Home Depot in Souderton and is currently working on opening another at the Oxford Valley Home Depot in Fairless Hills.

Despite being a relatively small stand, Rocco’s boasts a sizable menu of cheesesteaks and sandwiches, ranging from sausage and grilled chicken to eggs and mushrooms. Coffee and home fries are also on the menu.

The cult favorite traces its origins to a Home Depot in Long Island City in New York. Founder Richard “Rocco” Guardino decided to expand on his brother-in-law’s hot dog franchise idea and add Philly cheesesteaks and sausage sandwiches to the menu. His stand became an instant hit and soon he was expanding into other cities, including South Philly.

The stands are usually open throughout the week, from 7 AM – 7 PM or 9 PM.
