These Chester County Towns Rank in Top Ten Best Places to Buy a Home

These Chester County towns are earning top spots as best places to buy a home in the Philadelphia region. The towns were ranked by Niche based on home values, property taxes, homeownership rates, housing costs, and real estate trends.  

Chesterbrook ranked as the second-best place to buy a house for its “dense suburban feel,” high homeownership rates of 66 percent, and proximity to parks, coffee shops, and restaurants. The public schools are highly rated. The median home value is $350,200.  

Devon ranked in third place for its rural feel and abundance of young professionals. Upper Uwchlan township earned sixth place for also for high ownership rates. This town has a mix of a rural and suburban feel.  

Birmingham township came in at number 8. It has a population of 4,091 and 99 percent of residents owns their own homes. West Pikeland township ranked at number 8, with 97 percent of residents owning their homes. The median home value is $581,800.
