Pine Street Carpenter's 12th annual bike build in 2019 built the 1000th bike for the project.

Over 100 volunteers are gearing up for Pine Street Carpenter’s 15th annual 100 Wheels Project. The West Chester remodeling company hosts this community service event to build bikes for underserved children, according to The Daily Local News.

The company works with non-profits to identify the need, then purchase the bike parts. After that, employees and volunteers host a bike-building party.

Since the initiative started in 2008, over 1300 bikes have been gifted to families.

After the bikes are put together, the non-profit partners take it from there. This year the following nonprofits include Friends Association for the Care and Protection of Children, Home of the Sparrow, The Care Center, and more.

The following businesses will also be supporting the initiative: IT Edge, Brothers Pizza, United Tire, among others.

The build will take place Dec. 3 from 8 AM to 2 PM.
