Cyber threats and scams are rising, and you must know how to protect your business. This webinar, Tuesday, Oct. 11, starting at 1 p.m., will identify the threats and steps you can take to protect your small business.

Dr. Claude Council leads the Information Security Program for a medium-sized international healthcare system. He has worked in several roles related to information technology since 1993 for organizations such as Yuma Regional Medical Center, BellSouth, Louisiana Community, Technical College System, Target Corporation, and eBay.
He also serves on the Health Sector Coordinating Council Joint Cyber Working Group, the Provider Third Party Risk Management Council, and the ServiceNow Governance Risk and Compliance and Provider Third Party Risk Management Council.

Help Businesses Increase Holiday Sales with Google Tools
Learn quick ways businesses can promote products online using Google tools as consumers shop during the holiday season.
This webinar on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from noon to 1 p.m., is presented in partnership with the Grow With Google Digital Series.
The webinar will show how local brick-and-mortar businesses can list products on a Google Business Profile. It will also cover Google Merchant Center, a no-cost tool that allows both e-commerce and brick-and-mortar businesses to create free Product Listings on Google.

How to Start and Operate a Small Business–In-Person Workshop
You have come to the right place if you are in the early stages of thinking about starting a small business. If you are thinking about “becoming your own boss” this is a chance to get an overview of the things you need to know.
This Oct. 13 workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m., takes place at the Chester County LIbrary.
Join attorney and SCORE presenter, Frank Farmer in a discussion of the ‘nuts and bolts” issues that should be considered when starting and operating a small business.
Frank will discuss topics including the need and usefulness of developing a business plan; selecting a business organizational structure; fictitious name registration; licensing; hiring employees vs. independent contractors; obtaining tax identification numbers and other related topics (as time permits).

A graduate of Widener School of Law and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, Frank P. Farmer, Jr. has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1980.
Located in Kennett Square, but providing services throughout the Delaware Valley region, Frank’s practice, concentrates in the area of small business transactions, which includes the representation of individuals and business entities; starting, operating and/or buying/selling small businesses.
