Hundreds of Family, Friends Gather to Remember Life of Conestoga High School Junior
Hundreds of family members and friends flooded Trinity Presbyterian Church Tuesday to remember Griffin Lang. The 17-year-old was a junior at Conestoga High School and tragically passed away in a car accident just before midnight on Oct. 1, writes Holly Herman for the Tredyffrin-Easttown Patch.
Griffin was on the track team and was known for being “fearless, curious, generous, compassionate, with sparkle and charm.”
Rev. Sarah Weisiger lead the service, which was livestreamed on Youtube.
“Griffin lived,” she said. “His life mattered. It’s not fair that it ended so soon. We loved him.”
His family set up a GoFundMe to pay for funeral expenses and was able to raise nearly $49,000. On the fundraiser’s page, they described him as “a wonderful, genuine young man who has touched the lives of so many with his kindness and good nature.”
He is survived by his mother, father, and older brother. The family is requesting that instead of flowers, that people donate to Jenkins Arboretum Gardens in his memory.
