Chester County Sheriff’s Office’s comfort K-9 demonstrated his skills in helping people reduce stress during West Chester Area School District’s Mental Health Share, writes Steven Hoffman for the Chester County Press

Marley, the first United States Police Canine Association-certified police therapy dog in the nation, and his partner Sgt. Janis Pickell joined dozens of resource providers on Oct. 11 at the event. While attneding, agencies provided a variety of giveaways and information about mental health challenges.

Parents, law enforcement, staff, and administration took away tips, literature, and even a few smiles from the joyful Marley.

Chester County Sheriff Fredda Maddox said that “Marley and Sgt. Pickell play a unique role” in helping children who testify deal with fear and stress.
