Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square is famous for the abundance of flora visitors can see and enjoy year-round, but this is far from the only thing that this popular attraction has to offer, writes Andre Lamar for Delaware Online

“There is nothing quite like Longwood,” said Patricia Evans, communications director for Longwood.

If you are planning to head out to the gardens, ensure to plan at least three to four hours for your visit.

Logwood features over 9,000 species and varieties that bloom at different times, meaning that there is plenty to see during any season. For example, visitors who arrive in March are treated to the world-famous and rare blue poppies native to high elevations of the Himalayan Mountains.

In addition to flowers, the attraction is famous for its Festival of Fountains choreographed display that features more than 1,700 jets that spin and dance as they spout water as high as 175 feet. The summer performance series should also not be missed.

And you will not go hungry while visiting thanks to the several eateries that offer everything from salads to pork chops as well as vegan options.
