Creative Capital Wealth Management Group, which employs a retainer-based planning model that is making waves in the industry, is currently in growth mode.

Wayne resident Derek Dobin, who boasts 20-plus years of experience in finance and engineering, is the latest addition to the Phoenixville firm’s roster of professionals who utilize a team approach to help clients with a wide variety of needs as they maneuver through a complex financial-services world.

Dobin has been hired as CCWMG’s Managing Director. He has spent the last 12 years in the industry, working at Prudential Financial with high-net-worth individuals, families, and small business owners.

Dobin, who was “seeking greener pastures,” was attracted to CCWMG, one of the leading retainer-based advisory firms in the country and one that has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, American Banker, and other popular media outlets.

“(Retainer-based planning) is the direction the industry needs to go,” Dobin, a native of Connecticut, said about the model that charges clients a flat fee instead of a commission. “Just like you have a lawyer and CPA on retainer, people need to have their financial advisors on one as well.”

CCWMG developed a trademarked, retainer-based financial plan customized for each client to cover all aspects of their wealth management planning journey. It’s called the Milestone Clarification Process and is a layout of meetings with specific milestones leading clients to their long-term goals. It does not require assets to be managed by CCWMG or products to be bought by the client.

Furthermore, CCWMG has long-standing relationships with the top providers of alternative investments and provides its clients access to these accredited opportunities on an as-needed basis.

“It’s an honor to have someone of Mr. Dobin’s caliber join our team and want to help with the continued growth,” said Frederick Hubler, CCWMG’s President and Chief Wealth Strategist. “He was very attracted to our mission of giving clients advice and access to alternative investments they usually can’t get anywhere else.”

Prior to entering the world of finance, Dobin, who earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Ceramic and Materials Science Engineering from Rutgers University, was the Director of Sales at Advanced Fiber Products.

Dobin is a father of three teenagers and enjoys soccer, golf, and cycling.
