Julie Roseborough, a West Chester University graduate and longtime track and field coach, recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame, writes John Hartsock for the Altoona Mirror

Roseborough has been coaching the girls track and field team at Bellwood-Antis High School for 56 years, after she started the program in the 1960s. She began the 2022 season with a 474-98-3 record.

“There are people I’ve coached who are now in their 70s, and people who I am coaching now who are still teenagers,” Roseborough said. “I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of girls, and I love them all.”

Roseborough graduated from WCU in 1964 and was soon hired as a physical education instructor at Bellwood.

In addition to track and field, she has guided the school’s cross country teams, both boys and girls, for the last three decades. She coached field hockey for 25 years prior to that.

The school honored Roseborough by dedicating the track at Bellwood’s Memorial Stadium in her name in 2006.
