Samuel Kim, Youth Soloist, Featured at Delaware County Symphony Concert

The Delaware County Symphony’s upcoming concert will feature a performance by Samuel Kim, the winner of the Delaware County Symphony’s annual Youth Concerto Competition. 

Samuel is a student at Conestoga High School as well as a cellist and currently studies under Ohad Bar-David of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

He has already performed with the PMEA district, regional, and state orchestras; as well as with the NAfME national orchestra.

Samuel will be performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major with DCS. 

The symphony will also be performing Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite.

The concert will take place on May 1 at 3 p.m. in the Meagher Theater at Neumann University.

About the Symphony

The Delaware County Symphony is a charter member of the Arts Guild at Neumann University, formed in 1991 to enhance the cultural programming available to the Delaware Valley community.

The Delaware County Symphony is a community orchestra established in 1971 that is dedicated to providing outstanding musical experiences for residents of the Delaware County area.

Music director is Sebastian Grand, director of the Grand School of Music in New Hope. He is an active conductor, pianist and educator in Europe and the U.S.
