Duties include site layout and land development; commercial and residential planning; grading and utilities design; erosion and sedimentation control design; environmental permitting, including NPDES; and sanitary and stormwater piping design.

Civil Designer

Senior Traffic Engineer

D.L. Howell & Associates, Inc. is seeking candidates with five to eight years of experience in traffic planning, impact studies, and preparation of highway occupancy plans. This position will plan, organize, and manage the activities and operations of a new Traffic Engineering Division. He/she will be responsible for the management of Traffic Engineering Department and coordination with Civil Engineering and Land Surveying departments.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Professional Engineering license is required and PTOE is a plus); knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities of a traffic engineering program; and working knowledge of computer applications relating to traffic engineering and analysis, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Synchro 9, and HCS.

Construction Surveyor

Howell Kline Surveying, LLC is seeking candidates with one to five years of experience in construction stake-out and land surveying. Duties include performance of construction stake-out of buildings, roads, curbs, storm, and sanitary sewer, etc.; performance of stake-out calculations for site improvements; performance of boundary surveys and topographic surveys; and data management and project control point management.

CAD Drafter

Howell Kline Surveying, LLC is seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of experience using AutoCAD 2020 (or newer) on a daily basis in a surveying/civil engineering setting. Duties include the use of all facets of the AutoCAD 2020 CIVIL 3D Program related to the preparation of survey drawings; drafting boundary, topographical, and physical improvements surveys; and preparing deed plots for use by field crews.

The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree or equivalent experience; the ability to work well in a team environment; strong oral and written communication skills, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills; and a strong understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
