The film crew and cast who helped create Ageless Love are hoping the locally flavored film will bring an Academy Award nomination, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

Ageless Love was co-written, directed, and produced by filmmaker Joshua Coates, an Upper Darby native.

Shot in Swarthmore, Media, Bryn Mawr, and Atlantic City, it’s based on a true story from the late Yale Schwartz, who lost his wife in 1997 and never stopped mourning her loss. The couple lived in Media and were married for 28 years. 

Schwartz was diagnosed with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer and given three months to live. His dying wish was to bring his love story to the big screen. He reached out to Coates.

“After presenting his story to me, and asking me to produce and direct the film,” Coates explained, “I read the script and decided to put it on the fast track so Yale could realize his dream.”

The film tells the story of a Jewish couple, Yale Schwartz and Nina Lemisch, who fought against social norms of the late 1960s to find true love and happiness.

Filming was completed in two weeks and an advanced screening rushed to Schwartz. He died soon after.
