The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Media is hosting a virtual information session Feb. 15 on its Sonography Associate’s Degree program.

P.I.T. has developed a comprehensive program that allows students to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Sonography in two years.

Classes begin July 2022.

Sonographers are highly skilled professionals who use imaging equipment that emits sound waves directed towards internal organs, blood vessels, tissues, and other structures.

They can work in hospitals, clinics, or private practices to help physicians gather data needed to reach diagnostic decisions. Physicians heavily rely on sonographers to be the “eyes” inside the patient and aid in early diagnosis.

Program graduates will be prepared to do general sonography. With additional training, graduates can perform cardiac sonography, vascular technology, and other sub-specialties.

During the information session, you will have an opportunity to meet Denise Boyle, program director of the Sonography Associate’s Degree program, as well as Clinical Coordinator Marie Ruoff.

Attendees will also learn about P.I.T.’s admission process, courses required, outcomes beyond graduation and more.
