Yes, UPS's hiring policies are inclusive, but opposable thumbs for drivers and package handlers are a must.

How do you look in UPS brown? If you think that’s a good couture color, and have the desire to pick up some extra funds, UPS is your place. The deliverer is looking to fill 7,000 seasonal jobs in the Philadelphia region to answer holiday demand. Ryan Mulligan wrapped up the hiring particulars for NBC10.

UPS openings are listed for all five regional locations:

  • South Philadelphia
  • Philadelphia International Airport
  • West Chester
  • Horsham
  • Lawnside, N.J.

Openings include those for package handlers and personal vehicle delivery drivers. The latter role allows employees to use their own vehicles to deliver packages.

UPS has already begun its seasonal push. Seasonal employees generally stay with the company until around the second week of January; however, many usually stay longer. According to Lucia Peyton, the shipper’s director of human resources, around a third of those who join the company as seasonal workers end up transitioning into full-time roles.

The company is so eager to snap up new talent, it is committing to a yes/no decision on qualified candidates within 30 minutes after the interview.
