Energy Transfer has granted $48,000 to Goshen Fire Company to aid in the purchase of equipment to enhance the department’s firefighting capabilities.

With approximately 3,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure and gathering systems located in Pennsylvania, Energy Transfer is one of the largest and most diversified energy logistics companies in the country.

“This grant has made a big impact on our firefighters’ ability to safely and effectively respond to emergencies and protect our community,” said Grant Everhart, Executive Director of Goshen Fire Company. “We have appreciated Energy Transfer’s communication and support as they build and operate pipelines and other energy assets nearby.”

The grant aided in the purchase of six full sets of turnout gear, which include a coat, pants, hoods, gloves, and helmets. Turnout gear is required by the National Fire Protection Association to be replaced every 10 years.

“We are honored to provide grants to eligible first responders who protect our communities day in and day out,” said Joe McGinn, Energy Transfer’s Vice President of Public Affairs. “Offering grants and emergency response training are just some of the ways we are proud to support these efforts where we operate critical energy infrastructure.”

The Energy Transfer First Responder Fund provides grants to help further the primary mission of first-responder organizations, including local fire departments; emergency medical services; county emergency management agencies; county, regional, and local police departments; and other eligible agencies. Grants are determined based on a competitive application and review process, and written applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the following cycle.
