Chester County is among the 10 counties with the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate in Pennsylvania, according to a new report by Stacker.

To determine the counties with the highest vaccination rate, Stacker used data from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services as of Sept. 9.

Chester County ranked ninth with 57.5 percent of its population (or 301,667 residents) fully vaccinated. This is 2.7 percent above the overall vaccination rate in Pennsylvania.

Among the in-county population over 65, 75,177 are fully vaccinated residents, or 85.1 percent. This statistic is, however, 1.6 percent lower than that of Pennsylvania.

The county has recorded cumulative deaths per 100,000 people of 160, or a total of 839 COVID-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic. This represents 27.9 percent fewer deaths per 100,000 residents than elsewhere in Pennsylvania.

The number of confirmed cases per 100,000 residents is at 8,518, or 44,720 total cases. This is 18 percent fewer cases per 100,000 residents than the state.
