Be a Part of the Conversation, an Ardmore-based nonprofit, will host U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean and her son, Harry Cunnane, authors of Under Our Roof: A Son’s Battle for Recovery, a Mother’s Battle for Her Son, on Monday, May 10 from 7-8:30 PM.

The online program, which is supported by the Montgomery County Office of Drug & Alcohol, will feature the Congresswoman and her son as they share their family’s journey to recovery and what it can teach us about finding hope amid the unspeakable.

The co-authors wrote Under Our Roof to provide other families with hope, empathy, and understanding about addiction and its impact. Kim Porter, the Executive Director of Be a Part of the Conversation, believes these programs and conversations are important to reduce stigma and support families working through a loved one’s addiction and recovery.

“We are thrilled and honored to have Congresswoman Dean and Harry Cunnane join us online,” she said. “Their story is so moving, and their transparency is an inspiration.”
