Steven Matus, a native of Byram in northern New Jersey, is a Manager at RKL LLP, a professional services firm that provides assurance, tax, advisory, wealth management, and IT solutions.

Matus, who began working on weekends and after school as a 10-year-old in his father’s automotive shop, earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Widener University. He credits his wife with having the biggest impact on his career.

“She is just as much of a go-getter as I am,” Matus said. “She’s super intelligent, a current CPA, and manager of an internal audit department at an insurance company.”

His proudest professional accomplishment was obtaining two certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Community Bank Risk Specialist.

“These certifications are utilized in all my assignments with RKL,” Matus said. “My area of focus is risk management/internal auditing for banks and credit unions. The CFE and CCBRS trainings I attend and the knowledge I’ve gained from these allow me to better serve my clients in all aspects of risk and controls.”

Matus is also on the Board of Directors at Youth Mentoring Partnership, an Exton-based organization that offers programs to help youth forge character, build mental toughness, and master goal-setting skills through intense physical fitness and sports.

His favorite Chester County restaurant is Limoncello.
