Vanguard’s Anne Robinson Trades NYC for Malvern for Opportunity to ‘Drive Change’
When she was offered the job of a managing director and general counsel at Vanguard four years ago, Anne Robinson found the proposition of shifting from Wall Street, where she also held executive roles at several companies, to Malvern an intriguing one, writes Ryan Sharrow and Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“I felt like the opportunity to have an impact outweighed a desire to stay in the comfort zone,” said Robinson. “And the desire to drive change and growth was more attractive to me than just continuing to benefit from diversity rather than driving diversity.”
Robinson is now a leading Black woman in the investment world, which is a position that offers both “a responsibility and an opportunity to help Vanguard be an inclusive employer for a diverse crew.”
The investment giant currently employs approximately 17,000 people, more than half of whom are in Malvern. Currently, women represent 25 percent of the executive management team at Vanguard, while 17 percent are minorities. Robinson manages a group of around 500 employees.
