To commemorate Immaculata University’s centennial, State Sen. Andrew Dinniman presented a Citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to Immaculata president Barbara Lettiere.

Lettiere and the executive administration of Immaculata held a virtual meeting with members of the Board of Trustees while Sen. Dinniman read the citation aloud.

“For a century, Immaculata has shaped generations of leaders, executives, academics, scientists, artists, athletes, and professionals all committed to the spirit of service, sacrifice, and common good embodied so beautifully by the work of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” he said. “Immaculata is so much more than a place, a campus, or an institution of higher learning. Immaculata is the values, the vision, and the people who continue to propel it forward as its graduates and faculty strive to soar to new heights every day. Happy 100th Birthday, and best wishes for another century of success and service.”

Since 1920, Immaculata has maintained its commitment to an education grounded in the charism of the IHM Sisters and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Today, Immaculata University offers more than 70 graduate and undergraduate programs, and its distinguished faculty serve a population of approximately 2,500 students.

“I am very pleased that Sen. Andy Dinniman, a great friend to Immaculata, has honored the university during its centennial year with a citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Lettiere. “We are grateful for his support of and involvement with Immaculata over the years.”

Immaculata is continuing its centennial into 2021 with many celebratory events planned. Click here for details.
