There’s never been a better time to get outside and safely enjoy the outdoors, and that means there’s never been a better opportunity for Scouting.

“We thrive in the outdoors and believe that playing in the dirt, making fires, and learning from mother nature is essential for boys and girls to grow into their very best future selves,” said Jake Segal, the Director of Camping Services and Properties for the Chester County Council, Scouts BSA. “It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.”

More than ever, today’s families strive to find quality time to spend together. Cub Scouting, available to boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade, and Scouts BSA, available to those in sixth through 12th grade, helps to support your family by providing ready-made opportunities for you and your child to do things together.

As a parent, you want to be assured that the groups that your child joins will teach values consistent with good citizenship, character development, and physical fitness. The Chester County Council has been weaving these lifetime values into fun and educational activities for more than 100 years.

In a society where children are taught that winning is everything, Scouting teaches them to “do their best” and to be helpful to others. With fun and discovery at every turn, Scouting makes the most of right now. But what’s more, it provides young people a foundation they can stand on to embrace opportunity, overcome obstacles, and make new discoveries.
