President of Coatesville-Based Company Travels to White House, Touts Benefits of Opportunity Zones
Susan Springsteen, the President of Coatesville-based H2O Connected, recently traveled to the White House to discuss Qualified Opportunity Zones, a federal program created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 that allows for certain investments in lower-income areas to have tax advantages.
Springsteen appears in the above video at the 7:50 mark, when she is interviewed by the Daily Caller’s Senior White House Correspondent.
“The Qualified Opportunity Zone program brought us into this town,” Springsteen said of Coatesville. “We’re a tech business with manufacturing, so we can not only bring in jobs, but we can bring in jobs that are scalable to higher-paying jobs. Someone starts at entry level, and then moves on to a team leader and then into logistics and a technician and an installer. So, they can really start to move themselves out of poverty, up the income stream, buy their own houses, stay in the community, and really give themselves their own opportunities.”
H2O Connected manufactures the patented LeakAlertor product line – the automatic leak, overflow, and running toilet detection devices for the more than 330 million toilets in North America alone.
“In Coatesville, the revitalization is real and has only just begun,” said Springsteen. “We’re really excited to see what happens as the years unfold.”
