After completing extensive renovations to the Great Valley Commerce Center in Malvern, its owner is filling the space vacated by Unisys in August last year, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Apex Financial Advisors acquired the office complex that consists of two buildings three years ago. At the time, Unisys occupied 123,000 square feet in a building on Swedesford Road and 19,000 square feet at the Cedar Hollow building.

However, Unisys decided to move its offices to Blue Bell.

“As their business changed, they needed less and less space,” said Joe Weidenburner of Apex.

When Unisys left, Apex gutted the interior space and installed a new roof and mechanical systems. The renovations and campaign to lease the vacant space together cost around $15 million, but it soon paid off.

Apex landed Zoetis, an animal health spinoff from Pfizer that has signed a 10-year lease for 65,179 square feet.

Also, an existing tenant that needed more space, BioTelemetry, moved buildings and has signed an 11-year lease for 25,000 square feet in the Swedesford building.
