U.S. News & World Report: Chester County Home to Eight of State’s Top 50 Public High Schools

Chester County is home to eight of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 public high schools, according to new rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News reviewed more than 24,000 high schools nationwide to create its annual list. The metrics used to determine the rankings include graduation rates, college readiness, math and reading proficiency, and underserved student performance.

Among the schools in Chester County, Downingtown STEM Academy ranked highest in second place with a 100 percent graduation rate and college readiness of 97.8. The school also came in at No. 20 nationwide.

Next is Conestoga High School in fourth place with 98 percent graduation rate and 68.7 for college readiness, followed by Unionville High School in sixth place with a 96 percent graduation rate and 59.3 for college readiness.

Great Valley placed 20th, with West Chester Rustin following at No. 24 and Downingtown East at No. 34.

The list is rounded out by Phoenixville and West Chester Henderson at Nos. 49 and 50, respectively.
