Yoga Studio in Eagleview Town Center Gives Back During Crisis
Blue Buddha Healing Arts in the Eagleview Town Center is a space for community members to improve both mentally and physically.
The studio, owned by Kate Freese, features yoga classes, meditation, massage therapy, and more. When non-essential businesses were ordered to close, Blue Buddha made a seamless transition to virtual services. It is now relying on clients who are stuck at home to sign up for virtual classes to keep the practice going. Blue Buddha even set up a virtual tip jar, so clients can tip their therapists or instructors from afar.
Blue Buddha is now giving back to those who don’t have the option to stay home, having announced last week that it will provide essential and healthcare workers access to its virtual vault of wellness classes and resources.
“Essential and healthcare workers are our heroes right now,” said Bridget Gottdank, Blue Buddha’s Marketing Coordinator. “The words ‘thank you’ just don’t feel strong enough right now. We are leaning into our community to support our small business, and we hope that you lean into us to support your wellness needs as well.”
By sending an e-mail to admin@bluebuddhastudio.com, workers will receive unlimited access to virtual yoga classes (both live and prerecorded) and wellness videos from massage therapists focusing on how to release neck tension, stretches for back pain relief, and more.
Yoga, meditation, and other holistic wellness techniques can be especially important for essential and healthcare workers during this time.
“Our lives have completely been altered, and this is a traumatic experience for anyone,” said Gottdank. “Fear and anxiety might be developing in your home, creating increased stress for you and others. By combining physical poses and controlled breathing, yoga assists in lowering your heart rate and reducing stress. It allows you to relax and take time for yourself – something that we all need right now.”
Blue Buddha hopes that access to these resources will help essential and healthcare workers get through this hard time.
“We want to be able to support you as much as we can,” said Gottdank. “If you are an essential worker or know someone who is, please send us an e-mail, and we will give you access to our virtual wellness on the house.”
Non-essential workers can also access these resources through Blue Buddha’s website. The cost per class varies, but as Gottdank explained, the benefits of yoga, meditation, and massage during this time are invaluable.
If you or someone you know is a healthcare or essential worker who would like access to Blue Buddha’s free programs, please e-mail admin@bluebuddhastudio.com. If you would like to support massage therapists and yoga instructors at Blue Buddha, please check out the virtual tip jar.
