Paoli Couple Helping Friends with Tips on Living and Working Together

Kimberly Sargent DellaFranco and Thomas DellaFranco, who were working together from their Paoli home long before the coronavirus pandemic hit, have plenty of tips for their friends who are trying to adjust to the new situation, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“The most common question I get is, ‘How do you keep from killing each other?’” joked Kim.

Kim, who works for Gartner, said that it was not always easy. Sometimes, her husband would walk into the background of her video calls in sweatpants. Other times, she would talk so loudly on the phone that Tom, who works for PTC, worried his clients would not be able to hear him.

To overcome these issues, the couple developed a plan. They started sharing their daily schedules and coordinating their work life much better.

And while they have become the most conscientious of co-workers, they also ensure to prioritize separating their work from the rest of their life together. This includes clearing the dining room of work paraphernalia, delineating a clear end of the workday, and talking about much more than just work.
