Harcum College has donated thousands of pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) in response to an urgent call from the Einstein Healthcare Network.

Most of the largest academic programs at Harcum prepare future professionals in numerous allied health fields. Harcum’s associate’s degree majors include Nursing, Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, Veterinary Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapist Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Histotechnology.

Within four days of Einstein’s appeal for supplies, Harcum Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Julia Ingersoll had reached out to all program directors, corralling a carload of donated supplies and handing them off to Carol Prushan, Chief Development Officer at Einstein, behind the Academic Center on the Bryn Mawr campus.

“As a college with a long and proud history of preparing students to work in healthcare,” Ingersoll said, “Harcum understood the importance of supporting local healthcare workers by providing the protection they need to effectively serve their patients while also preserving their own health.”
