Gov. Tom Wolf has appointed Susan Yoder Schick, a member of West Chester University’s Class of 1988, to WCU’s Council of Trustees.

Schick, who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing, is the ninth WCU alum appointed to the current 11-member council.

Members of the council are appointed by the governor for a six-year term and confirmed by the State Senate. The council’s duties, responsibilities, and powers are set by Act 188, the founding legislation for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. WCU’s Council of Trustees execute policies of the system’s Board of Governors. Council of Trustees members greatly assist with advancing the reputation of West Chester University and representing the university throughout the state and the nation.

Schick is vice president, video commerce storytelling, at QVC, the multi-platform retail giant based in West Chester. She oversees the management and development of the Host team, as well as the production strategy to drive customer engagement through impactful storytelling.

Schick joined QVC in 1992 and has held roles of increasing responsibility over the past 28 years.

While her numerous contributions to QVC are woven deeply into the company’s fabric, Schick is recognized for building effective teams through leadership excellence and for having a strong connection to QVC’s corporate values.

She is a member of West Chester University’s corporate advisory board and frequently engages WCU students to serve as interns at QVC.

Daughter of the late Honorable Dick Yoder, Class of 1959, Schick’s connections to WCU reach literally to her childhood, one that included many days spent on the campus long before her enrollment as an undergraduate. Dick Yoder’s indelible presence on the campus spanned decades as WCU’s director of athletics, chair of kinesiology, acting associate dean of the School of Health Sciences, and football coach, as well as two-term mayor of West Chester Borough.
