Phoenixville-based Bluebird Distilling, which has suffered a major hit to its business due to the coronavirus pandemic, is doing its part to help the community by producing hand sanitizer, writes Jessica Boyington and Heather Grubola for 6ABC.

The distillery first opened its doors in Phoenixville around six years ago. Since then, it has been steadily supplying the tri-state area with handcrafted beer and spirits.

However, COVID-19 has significantly changed things for the company and its owner, Jared Adkins.

“It’s flipped my business totally upside down,” he said.

Adkins has had to close several locations, but that has not deterred him. Instead, he basically transformed his main distillery into a hand sanitizer factory.

“For the last two weeks, we have been producing sanitizer,” he said. “Selling it and supporting our local community.”
