With sports brought to a sudden halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, local college athletes are finding themselves with a lot of free time on their hands, writes Neil Geoghegan for the Daily Local News.

Downingtown native and West Chester University lacrosse player Tara Morrissey thought March would be one of the busiest stretches of her life. The senior was getting ready for her final college lacrosse season and making the final push toward graduation.

Then the coronavirus happened.

“It’s been like going from 1,000 miles per hour to zero,” said Morrissey, a Bishop Shanahan grad.

At first, she thought some time off would be nice, but then she found herself “extremely bored.”

To combat the boredom, Morrissey has started taking exercise classes on her phone, while others are going for runs.
