The excuses for not using video to capture the energy and magic of your next ribbon cutting, ground breaking, award ceremony or golf outing are getting old, according to Rachel Grate, a writer for EventBrite, the San Francisco- -based event management and ticketing website.

Videos are a smart, quick, creative, and cost-effective ways to share the magic and memories of an event with clients, employees and partners.

But you might not have the budget to hire a professional and you certainly don’t have the time to learn how to produce a professional video yourself.

Get over it, says Grate who then dispatches the top 5 excuses we all make for not including video at our next event.

Excuse #1: Video is too expensive. Not if you do it yourself, argues Grate. And given the camera quality of smartphones gets better with each new release, shooting your own event footage is a solid option.

Excuse #2: Producing & shooting video takes too much time. That’s simple, says Grate. You’re at the event anyway; whip out your phone and press record!

Excuse #3: We Don’t have a videographer. Using video templates from companies like Adobe Spark, Filmora, Magisto or Animoto, even the disorganized, raw footage of a first-time videographer can be turned into a slick finished video.

Excuse #4: Video doesn’t have tangible ROI. Not so says a Forbes report stating that 52% of marketing experts agree that video has the best return on investment of any type of marketing tactics.

Excuse #5: I only have time for mandatory tasks. Since 30% of companies are already using video, if you’re not getting in on the action, you run the risk of falling behind. Better Bump video to the top of your list.

Every event is a reflection of your company’s culture, vision and passion. Video is incredibly effective at capturing and sharing memorable moments with clients, employees and partners.

You already have a cell phone. Take it out, turn it on, press record and shoot away!

No excuses!
