In one of the many acts of kindness occurring across Chester County amidst the coronavirus crisis, a Glenmoore woman picked up a hefty repair bill at Goodyear Exton Tire to help a fellow driver pass her car inspection, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.
Cynthia Jackson of Downingtown found out she needed front and rear brakes and two new tires to pass the inspection. The bill came to $1,100 at a moment when she was short on cash.
Then Peggy – who wanted to be identified just by her first name – came to the rescue. Despite never having met Jackson before, she offered to pick up the tab for her repairs.
“It’s such a blessing,” said Jackson.
David Bockius, sales manager at Goodyear Exton Tire, said the scene was so moving even he had to walk away.
“In this time of everything going crazy and worrying about the virus, it’s nice to know that people want to pay it forward and still have a good sense of decency,” he said.
In return, Peggy asked to stay in touch with Jackson.
