Maria O’Connell, owner of the Express Employment Professionals franchise in Malvern, has the blueprint for business success.

Join her on Tuesday, Feb. 11 for a professional development workshop – entitled “Strengthening Your Core for Business” – and discover new strategies to grow your business, whether it’s new or one that is already developed. The workshop will be held, in conjunction with the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce, from 8-10 AM at Penn State Great Valley and will focus on strengthening core systems that will help your organization achieve the extraordinary.

As the proprietor of the local Express Employment Professionals franchise, one of America’s leading staffing providers, O’Connell works with job seekers to help them find the right job for their skills and experience, as well as organizations and employers to provide employment services and workforce solutions.

One of the many things she looks forward to sharing is her preference for business maps over business plans.

“I’m not a fan of business plans because they are not as dynamic,” O’Connell said. “They’re not as agile as we need them to be. It’s better to have a business map in play, so you can continually identify where you are and map to where you want to be.”

She will also discuss driving a culture of “why and how” in your business, as well as networking.

“The Power of Proximity, being able to tap into your connections in a different way, makes a real difference,” O’Connell said. “It’s important to take a look at the depth and breadth of your relationships. This is a great way to ‘see’ the partnerships in your network and how we can help each other.”

A light breakfast will be served at the workshop. The cost is $10 for ERCC member and $25 for non-members.
