A handful of ZIP Codes in Chester County rank among the 40 ZIP Codes in Greater Philadelphia with the highest percentage of adults who have advanced degrees, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The metro area is known for its large number of colleges and universities, which bring a lot of brainpower to the region. In an attempt to see where this brainpower is most concentrated, the Philadelphia Business Journal looked at the ZIP Codes in the region and ranked them according to the percentage of adults who hold advanced degrees.

Devon checked in at No. 8 with 44.1 percent of adults 25 and older holding graduate or professional degrees.

Next is Berwyn at No. 13 with 40.2 percent, followed by Wayne at No. 16 with 37.7 percent. Meanwhile, Chester Springs is No. 26 with 31.5 percent.

The list is rounded out by Malvern at No. 31 with 30.3 percent.

The ZIP Code with the highest percentage of adults who hold advanced degrees is Merion Station with 61.2 percent.
