Techwave Consulting – which provides multiple IT services, including data analytics, ERP, and cloud services – has relocated its headquarters from Exton to Houston, writes Chris Mathews for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company opened an office in Houston around 18 months ago, but it only decided to move its headquarters there recently.

Houston was attractive to Techwave for several reasons. The company works with many customers who are focused on wholesale distribution, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. According to Rajasekhar Gummadapu, CEO of Techwave, the company wants to grow its healthcare and oil and gas business lines. This put Houston in front as the place for its new headquarters.

“For us, getting closer to the customers and enterprises is much more appealing than getting closer to the technology hubs,” said Gummadapu.

The company currently employs 250 people, 50 of them in Houston. Techwave aims to double that number by the end of this year or the first quarter of the next year. Around 50 of the new hires will be based in the U.S.

Exton is still listed on the company’s website as a regional office.
