Mid Penn Bank’s Celebrity Golf Tournament Raises $200,000 for Breast Cancer Research
Mid Penn Bank, which has a footprint in Chester County after acquiring First Priority Bank last year, has raised $200,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through its fifth annual Celebrity Golf Tournament for Charity.
The golf tournament, which hosted 160 golfers, was held this summer at the Hershey Country Club and included a Celebrity Shoot-Out, followed by a Pairings Party at The Hershey Lodge.
Current and former NFL players like Ron Jaworski, Mike Quick, Merril Hoge, Seth Joyner, Andre Reed, Michael Vick, DeAngelo Hall, Jason Kelce, Kurt Coleman, and more were among the celebrities in attendance.
The $200,000 donation was announced at the Pairings Party. The bank provided $100,000 to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, a statewide nonprofit designed to extend public awareness of breast cancer and to encourage increased public and private funding for research, legislative advocacy, and high-quality screening, diagnosis, and treatment. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the highest-rated breast cancer organization in the U.S., also received $100,000 from the bank.
“Over 40,000 women lose their battle with breast cancer each year in the United States,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory G. Ritrievi. “On behalf of those unfortunate mothers, sisters, friends, and daughters, we are proud to host an event that raises money to hopefully someday stop this horrible disease. Thank you to our sponsors, celebrity guests, employees, and many others who made this two-day golf tournament an incredible success and who are helping us to find a cure, so our daughters do not have to.”
Mid Penn Bank is strongly committed to supporting charitable organizations through various means, including corporate donations, employee volunteerism, and fundraising. An independent community bank since 1868, Mid Penn, which has 38 retail locations in Pennsylvania and total assets of approximately $2 billion, regularly contributes to causes, including health and human services, community improvement, and education.
